Duluth, MN (#dlh) Happily married. Nerd from back before it was cool. Professional decolonizer (Non-Indigenous). Occasional DJ. Founder of numerous failed businesses. Former journalist and storyteller. Highly flawed Jesus-lover. In long-term recovery.
Boubville video. If you listen closely maybe you can hear some awesome teenage rockers in the background.

Boubville is a Central Hillside (Duluth) holiday experience. Humblebrag, my son and his band played a set in their lovely performance venue which is literally someone's garage. The rest of this magic took place in adjacent back yards. Absolutely punk rock. Absolutely delightful. #glow #dlh

I also did a few of these. Gonna see if I can find a cool font for "What Would Chewbacca Do." Easily one of the best gifts ever in 16 years of marriage.

Got a new label maker for my anniversary. No, yes it is romantic if your husband is a nerd. Now I'm going to spend 20 minutes putting these in random locations in the kids' bedrooms.

Canon rebel DSLR with the external shotgun mic. As if we'll need it when the bands and drumming begins.

A little light reading ahead of tonight's #christmascityparade. As one does. #dlh #Duluth

This morning when I looked north(ish) I saw this great rainbow over my place of employment, Denfeld High School. Then I looked south and saw whatever *this* is. Sun still peaking out but I figured this was some kind of weather phenomenon a smart person like you could maybe explain?

After days of gloom the clouds parted and I caught a snapshot of this rainbow over Denfeld High School today. This building is home to a thousand of the best and brightest young people Duluth has to offer this world. A blessing. #HunterPrideDHS #dlh #wx #mnwx (image edited by me, not AI)

The celebration included some powerful drumming and singing with three Denfeld students sitting in with members of the Vermillion singers. At the end we were able to gift outgoing Indian Ed director a Denfeld blanket. Just a beautiful experience.

Last week was #RockYourMocs2024 as part of our ongoing Indigenous heritage month celebrations at Denfeld High School. The your worked with their non-Native peers and the student government advisor to hold an assembly celebrating #NativePride

My son took his first solo and I didn't really register it at first because I was enjoying *all* the music and *all* of these kids. And they sounded wonderful. Also, Jason Wussow personally cut up a plate of the best carrots and dip I've had in about 5 years.

You know that lactic acid build-up, except it's in the soul, not the muscles? That was my day Thursday. Then I went over to Wussow's Cafe on Central Avenue to enjoy these miracles doing an extended set for open mic night. I felt better the second I walked in. DHS Jazz Band. #HunterPrideDHS

This was pretty cool. The band Remedy Drive performed at a benefit concert for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives at the Historic Denfeld High School Auditorium last week. Scooter "Laughing Fox" Charette joined them onstage. Here's a backstage view. #dlh

My beautiful neighbor lady and I watched the Canadian Snowbirds from Lake Avenue. Just realizing now these are two different aerial demonstration teams. But I had the photo on my reel and thought I'd share.
