I'm glad I got to see him. He also messaged me just yesterday to share a meme. I didn't respond to it because I was working on paperwork to help another person in my family that needs assistance. I wish I could have responded. One day I'll get to the other side to see my friend again.

He reached out in the last two months to catch up a couple of times. We talked, joked, he told me about his health issues. I was hopeful he would be ok and recover. The universe had other plans for him, and now the world is a much lonlier place knowing someone I considered a brother is now gone.
