I think they have aimed. And, I think recession as an aim is generous. I think the intent is actual resource shortages, which breed civil and political unrest. I do think that is Trump’s aim. It’s an opportunity for him (and others such as Christian nationalists) to accumulate power.

There is a ProPublica article, updated a week ago or so, detailing at least some of them, and it does appear that some are considered DOGE and some are considered employees of the various agencies and not directly of DOGE. It’ll be interesting to see how this moves forward.
