just blurted out in class "yes, you have to cite where you got your info. in a world in which lying loudly is the only thing that seems to get rewarded, citing your sources is an act of resistance" and folks, I really believe that.

Establishing Class Councils tomorrow in an attempt to give classroom management to the students. Councils will have one official meeting prior to winter break and then we’ll roll with it for second semester. Excited to see how it goes.

I left public ed to operate a self-directed learning center for 2 years. Now I’m back in public ed with new knowledge and skills, in better position to use principles of democratic and self-directed education in the traditional school environment. Hoping to share and discuss some of that work here.
