I’ve never been a religious person, but I have no problem with my taxes being used to:
•ensure children have enough to eat
•everyone has access to healthcare
•ensure water is safe to drink
•have people earn a living wage

While a few Republicans have spoken up about Trump’s vile post, others like Speaker Johnson ran away rather than make a statement. He didn’t even try his Sgt. Shultz “I saw nothing” line. It speaks volumes that he couldn’t criticize him for even his worst behavior. He has sold his soul to Trump.

@bsky.app I just read that (un)Truth Social will be releasing a version customized for iPad. While I don’t have that app at all, I do find myself in Elmo’s World much more often than I would like because it’s easier to use on the iPad. Any thought to doing the same with Blue Sky?

New Yorker and Democrat here. Mamdani was not my first choice. In fact, I didn’t rank him at all in the primary. But I won’t vote Republican as long as Trump is their cult leader. Eric Adams is still beholden to Trump. I’ll have to hold my nose as I decide between Cuomo and Mamdani.

At every Trump EO photo-op it is obvious he has no idea of the contents of the Executive Orders. They were written by #Project2025 w/o his knowledge, input or approval. Someone puts it in front of him, gives a brief description, Trump says “ooh.. that sounds good”. Worse than #autopen.

In 1972 Richard Nixon won the election with 520 electoral votes and 61% of the popular vote. By any standard a massive landslide. On August 7, 1974 a delegation of Republican members of Congress went to the White House to tell him he would likely face impeachment and removal if he didn’t resign.

Isn’t interesting that Elon Musk’s DOGE hasn’t found, or even looked for, any waste or fraud in govt. contracts with Starlink, SpaceX or Tesla nor ensure the Secret Service are paying the best available authorized rates at Trump Hotels and golf properties?

Amazing how DOGE has not found a single nickel of waste or fraud in the billions of dollars in the U.S. government deals with Tesla, Starlink, and SpaceX. But there is no conflict of interest.
