Usually just bits of noodle.

My wife’s family had an old cat that appeared to only eat cup noodle ramen…

I liked that movie a lot, but I never bothered with the sequel. I guess I felt like a sequel wasn’t necessary.

I’m still only partway through, but Enns is a Christian and theologian after my own heart: He embraces all the findings of history and science yet believes that doesn’t mean abandoning scripture.

I was going to quit this book after the first chapter—because, again, its key points are obvious at the onset—but I’m glad I decided to read on and see how he fleshes out his points.

In other words, we have to use our head. 🧠 Enns calls this a sacred responsibility, and I like that. #Bible #Hermeneutics

According to Enns, that ambiguity is a good 👍 thing because it means scripture can apply in all kinds of situations. If the #Bible read like instructions for microwave popcorn, it would only be applicable when microwaving popcorn. (analogy mine) 🍿 🍿 🍿

In addition to being ancient and diverse, the #Bible is ambiguous, which means you can’t just look up the answers to all life’s questions.

Why does the #Bible sometimes contradict itself? Well, duh. 🙄 Because it was written by different people in different times under different circumstances!
November 30, 2025 at 9:49 AM
Why does the #Bible say weird stuff we know not to be literally true rationally and/or scientifically? Well, duh. 🙄 Because it was written in ancient times!
