America tortured those people. Some people who were picked up by mistake were held for years and then released with no compensation.

They also weren't citizens so they weren't given any rights of due process under our own laws.

Expect a similar move to reclassify anyone sent there from the ICE raids.

The government created a new classification of "Illegal Enemy Combatants" for anyone sent to Guantanamo Bay?

So they weren't PoWs so they were not given any rights under the Geneva Convention.
