This year, I wrote a poem to honor our living legend, Stevie Wonder, for our annual showcase. His baby girl is culminating in a week and we wanted him to feel our love. The greatest honor was to have him experience this moment in person.

I was off Wed for appointments, and I received this interesting email from my student. This is one of the reasons why I teach my fifth graders how to email their teacher. I love that she can included herself in the list of students who were doing the work today! And that is highly likely.🤣🤣

Jesus, comfort and care for all who are left without their homes and those who have lost loved ones. The devastation from the wildfires is beyond understanding. Let us all rise like the Phoenix from the ashes. In the precious name of Jesus I pray, amen.

Our school was open even though the air quality was terrible. I’ve never seen anything like this at work. We were finally able to leave early, but the fires are 0% contained. I hope tomorrow is a better day. In 1985, those homes on the hills in the background were on fire.

My #onelittleword for 2025 is protection. No resolutions, just intentional focus on protection. The nation’s energy is toxic; the environment is toxic; some people are toxic; even foods are becoming more toxic. What’s in God’s control, I watch and wait. What’s in my control, I will protect. #2025
