I found that trying a new method (for me, 2nd person POV tense) opened up floodgates because it let me be imperfect. I got the ideas down and set aside quality to be a revision-problem. If you find a way to make peace that it won't be great on the first try, maybe it'll be easier. 🤞

I'd probably buy an ear warmer headband tbh. Idk if it's possible to make like travel coffee cup coozies? That and table coasters are like the best non-wearable functional things that would get a lot of use from me.

I tend to buy display trinkets for myself. (I have a knit chicken and a knit bunny on my bookshelf right in front of me.) In theory I'd buy something like fingerless gloves for the winter if it came with like a care card - part of my fear with functional knit things is that I'll destroy them.
