I’ve loved Aaron Zenz’s approach with his kids — he shared on FB the verse exploration drawings they did, and I’ve often thought that were I to be in a place of doing Bible study with kids again, I might use his idea — m.facebook.com/media/set/?v...

Sadly, it’s still sitting on my bookshelf to read 🤦🏼‍♀️ (partly bcs I’m doing less children’s ministry now, so other types of study books are taking precedence).
But Mom was so moved by it, I wanted to share it as a potential resource.

My mom highly recommended *Show Them Jesus* by Jack Klumpenhower. She read it as precursor to joining children’s ministry at her new church and it really seemed to revitalize her take on children’s ministry (and that’s saying something after so many years of engaging in it!)

Of course, teaching this to our kids is complex and complicated, lol. Which is probably part of why we are all still learning this one as adults even with parents who we know did their best to instill at least some of this in us as we transitioned into adulthood.

Funny: was just discussing this the other night with two of my cousins. We also were commenting on how helpful/freeing it is to remember that not everyone is owed an explanation of our choices. And that our choices are our own responsibility (not someone else’s to make for us)!

I am loved by the people who know me best.

I am brave and can do hard things, even when some people doubt me.

God sees everything about me and loves me with His whole heart.

God is for me and with me. I am never truly alone.
