Fridges and freezers can be *so temperamental*. If I block the air blow along the left side or back of my fridge things will start to freeze. It's wild. I'm glad you've unlocked this intel, and can prevent future less than ideal ice cream experiences 💜

This is actually a very important warning sign. Your freezer might have iced over and needs to be fixed. Any meat products in that freezer are likely unsafe to eat now.

So glad it lived up to your hopes! I didn't expect to cry!

I was not expecting the reaction I had to that movie! (That feels spoiler free enough 🤣) I hope you have a great time

I'm a therapist. Our jokes are *dark* 😅 (I can't summon any on demand, not how my brain works. But we're pretty self aware once the laughter dies down that no one else would get these).

My tabby and tuxedo also love cuddles

If they're your prescriber and you're taking a mood stabilizer they're trying to ask if the medication is still making it *theoretically possible* for you to feel joy. While honoring that actually doing so is wildly unrealistic given everything going on.

No lie, part of why I donate blood is for the compliments. My veins are wonderful and I love hearing it 😅

I suspect the plethora of people responding "writing" attests to why online forums are such a popular support for Autists.

I think long form writing is better than chat. When it's long form (like emails) I have an easier time feeling free to word things as clearly as I want. In chat it's shorthand and easier to become blunt.

Yuuup. When the whole family is "quirky" it's tough to be seen. I'm feeling really lucky my boomer parents have been very open to learning about all of this. My mom feels like she finally has answers to why her life's been so hard. Finally.

I love the hello bello one. It's not extra sticky, and smells like orange creamsicles which I find really pleasant so that helps me overcome any dislike of applying a cream.

It's SPF 50 and I managed a week in Florida with no sunburns thanks to it.

The thing is, it's genetic. They're not just denying your diagnosis, they're struggling to accept they missed either their own or the symptoms of others in the family.

Peer review diagnosis.... It both stings (why did I never know?!) and is super validating at the same time.

The only good thing about a slow paced book is I find them easier to put down sometimes. Because nothing's about to happen anyway 😅

"Love, Z" by Jessie Sima is our favorite kid book about love. It's a family of robots and the kid is learning what Love is. Very sweet.

The only time I've ever picked up an NT coded character was on the heels of being annoyed by them 😂 but I'm not sure if it's a coincidence and am looking for increased data points.

I also realized a lot of the authors I read from are ND so that's skewing the data. We write what we know 😅

My AuDHD means that I crave routine whilst also struggling to create it for myself. When the routine goes away I get decision paralysis. When plans change I have to very carefully adjust to avoid becoming overwhelmed immediately. External expectations and commitments create most of my routines.

2/2

So often characters in books say exactly what they mean. I love it because the miscommunication trope is my most hated. But then I end up feeling like these characters are ND coded due to their communication style being so direct.

I was responding to your assumption that women of a certain age "wouldn't bother trying". Seems your social circle doesn't have maybe gen x/millennials.

There's actual articles on this if you're truly curious

I find it interesting that this absolutely terrible person is tied with the party that both (1) wants to eradicate Autism and (2) uses it as an excuse for terrible behavior amongst their leaders. Like, "follow us, and we're terrible so make sure your kids don't become us"

...so worsening symptoms means even more need to get treatment.
