I am an environmental economist, a data geek, an artist (see @joyhechtarts.bsky.social for that), a rower, and various other things. In the hopes of keeping the politics off my arts account, I'm trying to put it here instead!

2. If you can, send money to organizations that are filing lawsuits, helping immigrants, or in any other way fighting against the destruction of our democracy and nazification of our country. The ACLU is always a good idea, but you can find lots of other organizations to support with google.

3. Call your elected representatives EVERY DAY to voice your opinions. To make this easy, visit 5calls.org - they list many issues you could call about, give you talking points on each issue, and give you the names and phone numbers of your elected officials to call. Easy Peasy.

I don't know, that's saying the end justifies the means, which I'm not sure about.

Did you read the opinion piece? I don't get the relevance of your comment.

Wow - not at Sony's income, which I don't care about, but at the images of young women apparently depicted in this film. How's that going to make any teen-ager with a normal body feel about herself? This is Not Okay.

How do we stop them?

HOW? What can each of us to do organize the Democratic party? I have no idea. My local party is puttering around about the mayoral election (they didn't endorse Mamdani in the primary), and organizing groups to go to protests together. Okay, but that's not going to change the country.

NO! We must be above that. They need to be charged and tried and perhaps convicted and then serve time in jail. You left out a few steps there. And no death penalty.

Eric Holder, aside from redistricting in California (which of course is going to lead to every state in the country redistricting), what do you suggest we DO? Beyond the usual - protest, send donations to groups filing lawsuits, and contacting our elected officials (even if they agree with us?).

how?

Wow!

We must all stand up to fascism. Hundreds of thousands of protesters in New York City (okay, I'm guessing!) marched peacefully down 5th Ave for hours. NYPD was there, looking bored, chatting. As it should be. Denver Police, learn from NYPD.
