Honestly the only way to mitigate algorithm's tendencies for doom is self-curating. Sadly it is actually hard to find good content this days, but it's worth it.

It's like Hotline Miami but without instant death and with more of a focus on collecting power-ups that persist through the run. And also bullet time. Pretty good short dynamic top-down shooter
