Feminist urban homesteader, recovering perfectionist. If I don’t follow back it’s b/c I’m busy in the real.
As a neurodivergent person who has struggled for decades with my mental and physical health, I never identified as disabled until very recently. I still don’t feel that people will respect that I truly am.

My partner had a workplace incident that resulted in a serious rotator cuff injury. He has recovered some range of motion but lives with chronic pain. I know this is not totally relevant to your point but it just reminded me of how close everyone is to disability.

I thought we were middle class b/c we could never go to Disneyland but I had my own room with bunk beds & our grandparents’ oceanfront “cabin” was a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house & I realized in my late teens that calling it a cabin was pretentious AF. But I was humbled after the divorce & that saved me.

To be fair to my cranky princess, after the 3rd time that she woke up & attacked Stevie, I intervened & separated them enough that I could rub Romy’s belly. Stevie gave me a slightly betrayed look, but they both deserve their personal space. Stevie is currently soothing Romy by washing her head.

Honestly, I’ve disagreed with Jesse on many issues & yelled at my speaker many many times, but throughout all the turmoil, the fact that Noor is a part of the convo has kept me listening. Thanks for this episode.

Romy discovered that the moon lamp gives off a little heat & decided to cuddle up to it.

Yes. But be home before dinner or else. It took me years to feel comfortable watching any tv in the daytime. It was forbidden when I was a kid except for Saturday morning cartoons.

I do know two other people who have successfully gotten compensation from their former landlords due to them getting caught violating the terms of the eviction,

I had lived there for 20 years. I’m happy to now own my own home in a smaller town, but wish I hadn’t had to rush the house hunt & move. He had refused to do basic update over the years like bee carpets & blinds & then said he couldn’t recall me ever asking. Always get these things in writing.

So unless we catch him trying to rent it to someone else when the renos are done, he’ll get away with it.

This happened to us. I emailed the BC tenancy board to find out how long he can do renovations since that wasn’t the reason the eviction (his adult son got evicted & needed to move in, but hasn’t yet). It’s been over 3 months now but the Board said their isn’t a firm definition of a reasonable time.

We are doing home renovations. My partner said he was going to Home Depot for lumber & I told him why he needed to go to Rona or Home Hardware instead. He agreed that we will not shop at Home Depot anymore.

One of my cats likes to share my pillow & kneed my scalp. As long as I have enough pillow space it can work & I’ve only woken up with dried blood on my hair line or ear twice in the last 4 years.

That’s great that there is funding for more beds. That would be actually helpful if there is funding for sufficient staffing levels someday. I’m not holding my breath on that.
