Thoughts on Memorial Day: On Memorial Day we honored all military personnel who died in the service of our country. We honored Ross Burnett, who died, a prisoner of war, in the Philippines on July 6, 1942. two week’s before my husband, Paul Ross Burnett was born. Our son and grandson carry his name.

Early on the morning of April 24th, a child with Stage 4 cancer — a U.S. citizen — was deported with her non-citizen mother, to Honduras. ICE agents were apparently told of the cancer diagnosis. The child was deported without medications or any consultation with knowledgable physicians
