Having watched all of these movies I can confidently say literally all of them were better than 'Weapons'

for the record the 9 other movies were Robert Eggers' 4 movies, Barbarian made by the same director and Companion which also came out this year and was produced by this movies director

apparently Kusanagi is a bit more whimsical in other adaptations which might help me like the series a bit more. I get that the movie is going for a certain tone but I've never been a fan of Kuudere character

I'm not sure if infidelity is something Yuasa is particularly interested in as a concept but I noticed its shown up in at least two of his series'.

'Kemonozume' (2006) also briefly featured it. I found it interesting considering its not the type of thing I've seen many anime seriously address

to me what something represents and how effectively it communicates that it way more important to me than how good it looks

it may not be all that well animated but the gesture effectively represents a shift in how kiki's treated which I really appreciate
