also i think mirage being intended to be a companion for humans would make her display behaviors more intended to communicate information to humans like making crying noises when she's really sad or like sneezing sounds/gestures if there's a lot of pollen in the air or something lol

but in the mirageverse i tend to play around with, she's just a normal person who is unaware of what she was intended for but who is very very concerned about death and existence and it's made her very depressed/struggle with socializing because of her anxiety around loss.

it'd also explain why she could act as a psychopomp-like figure for certain fanworks, at least to me.

her fixation/fear of death comes from that intention that the people on the v-model project had for her to experience a lot of compassion/empathy to help people feel connected to her and safe, but also be constantly exposed to people she has connected with dying.

i think they may have specifically suggested that v-models like this could be used for home-based healthcare, especially for end-of-life care for people who may not have living family involved anymore.

more transfem headcanons in general tbh. i am glad the general consensus about mirage is that she's transfem.

a friend who is very quickly going to be very blunt about being fond of her bc v2 has the subtlety of a rock through your window. mirage is going to be so overwhelmed by that but like. the more she learns about v2 the more she kinda likes them even if they are very strange.

and this is the start of all the robot yuri shit that i later develop in my head. v2 picks up on stuff quickly enough but is still very Odd, and mirage realizes how bad isolating herself for years has been for her... and it is nice to have someone so nearby. a friend, even.

however she does not know how she's going to do this given that she's like. probably not the best example of someone who's doing particularly well in life. v2 doesn't mind. they'll even offer to like. do things to help HER out in turn... so they make a little arrangement off that.

i think they end up in an arrangement where mirage will try to help them adapt to life like this, because even if she doesn't necessarily know how to believe v2 really experienced the things they say they did... whatever their deal is, it is distressing and scary for them!
