I propose the ACC be called the All Coasts Conferences.
Those floods triggered many landslides. In response, NCGS/NEMAC started a wonderful landslide hazard mapping project to plan for future events, by studying the past. Post 2010 NC legislature killed its funding, well under halfway completed. I think a lot about that data gap often since Helene.

I remember standing in the same spot in October 2004. September brought brought multiple hurricanes through WNC and I was home on fall break. The landscape change at that point on the North Folk was striking then, but nothing to what Helene has done.
