Long absence. Still struggling, but tendon tear seems 99% healed. Started allopurinol 88 days ago, uric acid was 5.3 after 4 weeks @ 100mg. Doc says continue. Flares minimized? Eggs fixed my low folate/high hcy per labs at end of Sep. Had a very bad inflammation flare this past week. Gut is wrecked.

Happening since last post: Bad food poisoning bout (e. coli or campylobacter likely), multiple flares & still recovering from split tear of peroneal longus (at left lateral malleolus). Quit B-vitamin supps due to flares becoming constant since starting. Drs. swear the flares are gout; maybe right?

Had additional flare since last post. Not quite sure what to do any more to try to figure out what is going on. Right before the flare I added creatine & TMG to the stack for methylation, I definitely had a reaction to TMG (heart palpitations) - wonder if it contributed to the flare as well.

Finished the doxy mid-week, on probiotics but stomach is wrecked. Follow up with Dr, they want to point finger at one test (uric acid), ignoring atypical symptoms/episodes over the years & other test results. No, turns out Hcy is higher than it was in 2018 during worst flare, folate is lower. 🤔

By day 6 of the doxycycline course my gastrointestinal system had enough. It's been a struggle since then, despite trying to take probiotics (including drinking plain kefir/plain Greek yogurt). 1 day left, I cannot wait to be done. Swelling/pain (elbow) seems resolved though, but odd pain elsewhere.

Journey status: still halted. Achilles was/is healing slowly, barely limping around. New PCP, trying to get labs, compiling historical data.
Then, boom! Infected olecranon bursitis/cellulitis? Fever, chills & calor. Aspiration futile, no fluid. Inflammation markers🔼HR/BP🔼, doxy is helping it seems.

I was journeying, but suddenly my foot had other plans. Journey to screeching halt, pain and limited mobility as I somehow yet again can't seem to get a diagnosis. Doc requested MRI but it's scheduled over a week out. Is it my crazy inflammation again? It presented a bit different this time.
