My mum a few years ago casually dropped into conversation ‘you remember Rose Tremain don’t you? We used to see her when you played with S.’ S’s parents were her neighbours. No recollection! 🤣 There was another author’s house I played at as a kid. Oblivious! Now I would have so many questions!

Essentially Starmer was patting Trump on the head, played to Trump’s ego with invitation to go and play at the King’s house which Trump was all happy about and therefore willing to accept what Starmer told him. I think it was well-played.
