Every time I read a Gladys Mitchell book I lowkey imagine Beatrice Bradley looking like this

god I love the goodreads algorithm
October 2, 2025 at 12:53 AM
This one's just silly tbh
August 27, 2025 at 3:58 AM
fascinated by whatever's going on in the background here. why is he holding a cactus.

RIP Ronald Knox you would've hated Gozyuger episode 18
June 25, 2025 at 3:35 AM
Caught up on Gozyuger partially because I knew there was a mystery-themed episode.......... not a huge fan of this series unfortunately but I always love it when my very specific hyperfocuses intersect
June 25, 2025 at 3:35 AM
very happy with getting all these for $30 (top left is Greek Coffin Mystery)
June 20, 2025 at 1:40 AM
goodreads I will dissect your algorithm to figure out what the hell causes this
May 28, 2025 at 4:05 PM
Shizuko Natsuki's Death From the Clouds is much less interesting than Innocent Journey (her only other book I've read) but also doesn't have the 80s-style-transphobia so........ mixed bag?

Somehow I don't think this goodreads page is quite right either lmao
May 24, 2025 at 4:09 AM
visiting France so picked up some books of course

is my French good enough to read these? almost certainly not!
April 24, 2025 at 9:23 PM
I was responsible and got rid of 3 bags of books today! And then used the store credit to buy......... more books

(in fairness I've been looking for She Died a Lady)
April 17, 2025 at 8:08 PM
why does this only seem to happen to me
April 17, 2025 at 6:45 PM
don't-impulse-buy-old-hardcovers-challenge FAILED once again
April 5, 2025 at 10:35 PM
I particularly liked reading about the serialization history in the Aldridge Marple book, especially because I randomly have a clipping of Pocket Full of Rye's serialization

(my great-grandmother sent the ad on the other side to a family member)
March 29, 2025 at 11:11 PM
final book haul, which was the best part of this work conference tbh
March 28, 2025 at 3:23 AM
very good haul from the used bookstore in this city, could have easily gotten 10 more books
March 23, 2025 at 9:42 PM
Didn't pick it up - $75 for a book that's more of a novelty is a bit much for me - but running into this copy The Floating Admiral was fun

(also, that Chesterton book next to it)
March 15, 2025 at 2:30 AM
sigh, adds one to the tally mark

(I really want to know what is going on with the goodreads algorithm here)
March 12, 2025 at 4:23 AM
I have a very specific affection for copies of books that promote war bonds because it's such a specific historical piece
March 10, 2025 at 10:06 PM
New book haul yay

(somehow this copy of Bellamy was cheaper than the new paperback version lol)
March 7, 2025 at 10:51 PM
WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING
February 21, 2025 at 7:44 PM
I recognize that a Charli XCX/untranslated Masahiro Imamura short story joke is completely incomprehensible but here I am, doing it anyways
February 6, 2025 at 7:58 PM
mystery novel summoning circle

(please don't ask how much I've spent at @mysteriousbookshop.com)
February 3, 2025 at 10:30 PM
Finished Shizuko Natsuki's Innocent Journey - definitely in the social school/shakai style of mysteries like Seichō Matsumoto's stuff

I like the premise a lot but wow it veers into 1970s-never-met-a-trans-person style of transphobia. Not entirely unsympathetic but def uncomfortable
February 1, 2025 at 11:41 PM
On one hand, buying this eBay lot was a little silly because I now have 3 copies of Top Hat, but also it was cheaper than getting Headless Lady/Footprints separately
