DAY 30: "Coalescence Returns.." from Risk of Rain Returns.

I remember the first time I listened to this track in-game.

Going back to where it all began felt weird at first, yet somehow always welcoming.
Cuz well, that distinctive sound was always there.

Still chanting.

"Aged"

Even 'til the end.

DAY 29: "Ashes to Ashes, to Ashes (To Ashes)"
From DEADBOLT.

Close to the end.

And, like in most videogames, that's what a final boss is.
A close to the end climax. The beginning of the end.

Some make it epic, some make it hard or some don't have one at all.

But this one is truly unique.

DAY 28 Side-B: "The Winding Ridge" from Hyper Light Drifter.

...oh, this game.

I'm... not the biggest fan of HLD?
I think it's fine, but it can get frustrating at times and it could use some improvements.

But I can't deny the artistry, heart and raw passion this game has in every aspect.
August 26, 2025 at 9:32 PM
DAY 28 Side-A: "Die Anywhere Else" from Night in the Woods.

...god, this game.

No game has lived rent free in my head this hard since probably OMORI.
It read me like a book and left me a wreck.
A total trashfire, if you will.

And I loved it for it.
(i love you mae aaaaaaaaa)

Oh yeah, the music.
August 26, 2025 at 9:32 PM
DAY 27 Side-C: "The Garden" from Monument Valley.

...oh boy.

I. Love. These. Games.

Probably my first approach at not only good mobile games, but also to puzzle games and optical illusions.

Which you can bet I frickin' like.

...oh man.
I'm a kid again.
August 22, 2025 at 12:10 AM
DAY 27 Side-B: The level music from That Level Again 2.

I... can't really start to describe why this one has stuck with me so much.

Maybe it's the atmosphere, the concept, the story, but... there's this deep, melancholy feeling that won't leave.

Which I kinda can't believe this game could create.
August 22, 2025 at 12:10 AM
DAY 27 Side-A: "An Endless Desert" from Alto's Odyssey.

HANDHELD GAMES YOU SAY?!
Ok, you asked for it.

Introducing... ACTUALLY GOOD MOBILE GAMES.

I may have gone too far, I know.
But this is another fixation of mine. A bit of an oldie.

...I can't believe I get to gush about this.
August 22, 2025 at 12:10 AM
DAY 25: "Delusive Bunker" from Katana ZERO.

Hoo boy they were a buuunch of options for this one.

From games I have played, games that are on this thread already and some from games I haven't played.

But for the sake of keeping it fresh and pumped...
...I gotta go with one of those masterpieces.
August 21, 2025 at 3:23 AM
DAY 24: "Third Sanctuary" from DELTARUNE Chapter 4.

(Ok this is the last time I'll cheat this way but just trust me on this one)

...this chapter.
Easily the best one so far.

I can't believe we have to wait a year to see how it continues.
But have you heard those time signatures tho.
August 19, 2025 at 10:09 PM
DAY 23: The entire soundtrack of Hauntii.

I'll admit I like bending the rules of this thread to my own benefit. Because I love music that much.

I could talk about the songs that has stuck with me it all day.
But today is about the unseen. The unknown. The underrated.

I've been waiting for this.
August 19, 2025 at 9:41 PM
As you enter what's left of the town, the picture is painted in front of you.

The few streetlamps illuminating the few houses left.
The one person that greets you, a tired yet welcoming old man.
The lonely bench that survived the test of time and the cold wind, allowing you to rest for a bit.
August 12, 2025 at 10:13 PM
DAY 22: "Dirtmouth" from Hollow Knight.

...yeeeeah.

Even as I'm writing this, I can't help but wonder if I should use my one Hollow Knight song on this.

There's so many fantastic tracks that could be featured in any day.

But honestly... I think it doesn't get better than this for town themes.
August 12, 2025 at 10:13 PM
DAY 22: "My Castle Town" from DELTARUNE Chapter 2.

This game.

With the recent addition of the recent new chapters, this game is recently everywhere now. Even more than before.

Being one of the few JRPGs I've played, it has one of the few town themes I know and can talk about.
August 12, 2025 at 10:13 PM
DAY 21: "Smile At My Cursed Dream" from Nine Sols.

At times, I want to break lose.
I want to conquer a beast of my own choice.
A game that has tested others in this battlefield of pain, pleasure and pride.

But sometimes I underestimate said beast.
And the only thing that's left... is survival.
August 12, 2025 at 2:02 AM
DAY 20 Side-A: "Dolphin Shoals" from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

I'm not exactly a fan of racing games.
It's one of the genres I care for the least even though I've played some of them in the past.

And their music is about the same. Don't really care for it.
...with some fantastic exceptions.
August 10, 2025 at 11:34 PM
DAY 18: "Determination" from Undertale.

This one was odd.
I... haven't really played any games that have an actual game over song?

Closest thing I have is a slowed down version of the song that's currently playing or just a random sound.

...so I guess I'll have to stick with a "usual" choice.
August 10, 2025 at 6:10 AM
DAY 17: LITERALLY EVERYTHING from Guilty Gear Strive.

This is probably the hardest day I will ever do.

Funny thing is, it wasn't at first.
Challenging for sure, since I love music too much and I rarely get tired of any song.

And then I thought of this one.
Not realizing what I just got into.
August 8, 2025 at 8:53 PM
DAY 16: "Blossom Haze" from Sonic Mania.

Part of the reason I don't do retro games often is because:
1) Some design choices have aged terribly or are now objectively bad.
And 2) I suck at them. Very hard.

But I have to admit that in the music department... some retro games are yet to be beaten.
August 7, 2025 at 8:01 PM
DAY 15: "Make This Right" from Furi.

Boss battles.
Small, spontaneous pieces of climax you either fear or kinda hope for.

In this game, however, boss battles have mixed feelings.
Excitement mixed with relief, dread mixed with bravery.
Satisfaction mixed with horror.

Welcome to Furi.
A Boss Rush.
August 5, 2025 at 11:35 PM
DAY 14 Side-B: "Son of No One" from The Cub.

Vocals in VGM and specially diagetic VGM is always an interesting thing.

The effort to fit into the world of the game is nothing to be laughed at. Some of the best ever made have that effort engraved in every note and lyric.

And here's one of the best.
August 5, 2025 at 9:03 PM
DAY 14 Side-A: "Overthinker" from Laika: Aged Through Blood.

I've been waiting for this day.

Some might say videogame music doesn't need vocals or it's hard for them to really fit into the game.

But sometimes there's works out there that beat that idea.
Sometimes all it takes is a fucking genius.
August 5, 2025 at 9:03 PM
DAY 13: "Beat of The Kosmos" from Noita.

This was kinda hard at first. Because I love games too much. Specially indies, if you couldn't tell by now.

How can I hate an art piece without insulting the artistry and work put into it?

The answer is... if the game is made by and for finnish arsonists.
August 5, 2025 at 5:51 PM
DAY 12 Side-B: "Travelers" from Outer Wilds.

I often find myself not wanting to gush about well known and liked games because so many people already do that and I don't wanna be part of that noise.

That annoying noise that makes people back off and miss... once in a lifetime journeys like this.
August 3, 2025 at 8:05 PM
DAY 12 Side-A: "Title" from OMORI.

Here's that other RPGMaker game.

It has a way to get inside of my head and soul I... kinda can't describe.
It's almost overwhelming how much this game makes me feel and how much I adore despite being... so scared of it.

Scared of something... I can't describe.
