Anthropic let Claude AI run an office store serving real customers (their employees) and dealing with real money for about a month. The results were mixed.

Your B2B customers probably don't expect you to have all the answers to their questions immediately. But what they do expect is your willingness to understand their business needs.

"We have been using Shopify and associated apps for 6 years now and Early Bird has been one of the best to date." ★★★★★ 5 stars out of 5

...I haven’t talked much about our pre-order campaign functionality (since features aren’t really defensible moats for #Shopify apps these days).

Typically we have to make it clear to #Shopify merchants they need to have their marketing and distribution channels sorted out before setting up their pre-order workflows.

Otherwise, they're making the eComm equivalent of the classic SaaS mistake..."Build it, and they will come."

When we help #Shopify merchants setup pre-orders, inevitably we chat about their inventory management, cash flow, shipping and fulfillment workflows.

So we've been investing time into learning about these aspects from the get go. Mostly the latter two.

When you're a founder who used to earn a decent amount in an FTE role, any pay cut puts extra stress on you.

Especially if you have family commitments.

You'll feel like it's a huge step backward.

A good community response to a #Shopify merchant should be investigative, not just informative.

There are lots of quick, surface-level responses out there. But it's worth taking the time to write a thoughtful one.

You know what I struggle with?

It's the daily dramatization of the most mundane things.

When I document what I do for our #Shopify apps, I look at my notes and go "Bro, it's not that deep"...

You might be feeling the same too. It's a daily grind. So you're like "Oh it's just another day."

Watching videos of the LA Palisades fire makes all your founder and startup problems feel minimal.

The true competitor of an app isn't other apps. At least we don't see it this way for Early Bird right now.

It's what's holding back merchants from using our #Shopify app solution; and continue running preorders the way they always have.
