I edited an award winning Canadian comic and it turned into an award winning beer.

It's a good day to read a book by the river while your wife frolics

I just finished reading I'm Afraid of Men by Vivek Shraya, and it's easy to see why it was named Best Book by several journals.

A very quick read, it explores her gender identity journey and the intersection of mysogynistic and colonial violence.

Happy publication day to the Fellowship of the Ring, part one of the Lord of the Rings. It was originally published 71 years ago on July 29th, 1954, and has since become one of the best selling books ever written!

Started reading Written on the Dark by Guy Gavriel Kay the other day. First book of his I've read, and it is hitting all the right notes with me!
A fantasy novel that is more historical than fantasy, mystery and political intrigue, and LGBTQ+ positive! Amazing so far!

Yesterday I was asked to be a guest speaker at a kids' summer day camp about comics and superheroes. We made zines and had a lot of fun.

Thank you Rockland Park HOA for having me. #yyc #comics

In reading about the friendship of JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis, and their "literary club," I am reminded of some of my own creative friend groups and their own slow dissolutions.

I am reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel by Susanna Clark, and narrated by Richard Armitage. Man, can that man do voices! I almost forget it isn't a full cast audiobook.

Starting a new book today. And one line really stuck out to me: "Edwin is capable of action, but prone to inertia."

Just got this book from the library. Joe Sacco created graphic journalism with this series and I think it has never been more relevant

When DC released Detective Comics #27 (2014) after they launched the New 52, I grabbed two copies: One for reading and a second variant cover by Frank Miller for him to sign if I ever had the chance to meet him. After 10 years I finally had the chance, and I decided a different book would be better!

I'm not tabling at the Calgary Expo this year, but I will be kicking around and hanging out with Richard Comely at the Captain Canuck Booth!

Let me know if you'll be around and we can chill

This is a deeply philosophical novel contemplating the nature of consciousness when the Greek gods gift it to fifteen dogs. It's a novel I can see myself rereading because of how deep it is. I can see why it won Canada Reads in 2017.

Trigger warning: animal death
