My point is, every jam band does that to some extent. Every Phish show I've seen has moments where they jam and then just drop the jam completely and start the next song of their 12 song set. Jarring stuff. As a DB fan of 15 years i thought last night was fine. Had its moments

I hear you on this, the transition is abrupt sometimes. It's something you see all jam bands now (not that I'm trying to excuse it, just acknowledging that the odd transitions/abrupt switches in jams is a common occurrence across the board)
