If you want an easier time - I’d say go for the remakes. There are still some bonkers moments but certainly fewer than the original. The original is amazing but a slog if you are not super invested

It's genuinely a masterpiece. An amazing, weird, sad, confusing masterpiece. And the remake films do exactly what they needed to (ace animation upgrade and a slightly more digestible ending)
