As an Auburn fan I’m not at all excited about this hire. It appears Golesh is not from the south and had 1 good season at USF. Hope I’m wrong but I don’t think this is a good hire for Auburn ☹️

I don’t understand the thinking of having an 8-9 team conference. I get that you get an NCAA bid for each sport but with the way the P4 schools are going, it makes more sense to me in future to merge sources and become stronger that way. Better strength in numbers?

Yeah… those are all separate universities under the same education system. Elon and Queens are both private schools so I doubt they will run independently. Queens will likely be a satellite campus of Elon

Not sure how that happens if it is a “true merger” except maybe Queens keeping sports on that campus that Elon does not offer.
