Two commemorative services are due to be held to mark 52 years since the Summerland fire.

Douglas City Council will host their annual ceremony at the Summerland memorial, while campaigners are expected to gather at what remains of the Summerland site.

The 17th-century replica will open to the public from tomorrow, giving people a chance to step onboard the ship.

BREAKING: The Isle of Man Attorney General has denied the request for a new inquest into the Summerland fire.

Writing to the campaign's lawyer, he said he was unable to grant a new inquest due to a lack of ‘fresh evidence’.

NEW: Ferry sailings to the Isle of Man are to be adjusted from tomorrow, as the tide in Douglas harbour will be too low for the vessels to enter.

It affects those travelling on the Manxman or the Ben-my-Chree, from Wednesday 9th to Tuesday 15th April.

NEW: Manx Care announce 'new contract' with the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

They said the new contract 'would not be possible' without funding from Manx Care.

The service will now continue to respond those ill and injured on the Isle of Man for a further 12 months.

The Chief Minister was unable to confirm how much the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal in Liverpool has cost.

Early estimations suggest it could cost around £70m, which is £32m over the original budget.

The bill will now be passed on to the UK Ministry of Justice, before being sent for Royal assent.

NEW: Most popular baby names in the Isle of Man last year were 'Lili/Lilee/Lillie/Lillee' for girls.

'Oliver' was the most common name amongst boys, with other names including 'Archie', 'Noah' and 'Theo' proving popular.

A total of 574 babies were born in 2024.
