very good post, lots of this tracks with my own experience growing up in the US before moving back to the UK ten years ago

I'm perhaps less optimistic about the US because I fear that the US political situation is going to eat significantly into American economic dynamism

The interior design is at best confused and having ceiling spotlights everywhere is horrendous…
