As things continue to get worse for the average American I expect those with enough funds or work in a desirable field will leave. Why wouldn’t you? Brain drain happens to all authoritarian governments. It’ll take the US decades to recover.

I'm not sure how it translates to something like Blender, but I think you're correct. It's all time-based, so the draw call resembles something like (sin(sin(t) * cos(t))) / cos(t * sin(t * 0.5))... and tweak until it looks interesting.
