Yeah, I like (I think it was Ed Ongweso Jr’s description): ‘AI is an over-eager intern.’ It’ll do the work you tell it to, but not well, and you’ll need to manage it all the time.

Woodworking guys? Or home renovation guys? I can’t wait! They’re both some of the most opinionated and annoyingly smug guys on the internet. I just saw a guy arguing that something wasn’t handmade because the person used power tools.

I watched another person’s video about this and my partner had to ask me to stop yelling at the television. It’s genuinely crazier than any new age ideology I’ve ever heard of.

I assumed he reached some kind of understanding regarding Tisch and that there are internal political machinations that we are not privy to. Or maybe he just doesn’t want to pick the fight until she messes up and gives him an overt reason to oust her.

Have you tried larger, less frequent runs of fewer original designs per year? I personally was excited to buy a reprint when you started offering those, because I didn’t find your work until recently.

I often think about the fact that Zohran Mamdani will be mayor of a city with ~8.5 million people in it, which is about the population of my entire state (Virginia). Seems like a good and fair system. 😐

It would be amazing to see a channel of ads for cigarettes and leaded gasoline with a side of jaw dropping casual misogyny. I’d watch.

It only makes sense if you as a politician don’t believe in anything and have no solutions to anything. Accommodation to reactionary ideas never works, because as we see now reactionaries will always need a new scapegoat. They will never successfully be accommodated.

I just reread this book! It sounds nothing like her writing and that style of weird pseudo-poetic reminiscence is very much at odds with the story of Downbelow Station. Most of the characters grew up on ships or space stations!

This is so helpful, because while I believe and trust @edzitron.com’s reporting, I cannot, no matter how often I rewind and listen again, follow the flow of money when he tells it to me verbally.

Paypal is a loathsome, despicable company that arbitrarily freezes accounts and holds people’s funds for ransom. I build things for a living and have heard so many horror stories from small artists and craftspeople that have been fucked over the way you have.

Remember the density of boutique cupcake shops, and then donut shops? It’s that but for milkshakes. 3 of them will be out of business in a year and the 4th will probably start selling food.

By “bringing up the subject constantly” you mean LGBTQ communities brought up their own existence and people on the left accepted it. The idea that if only we hadn’t given the right such a prominent scapegoat is immoral cowardice and NOT how this works. They just would have found a different one.

He would add other student’s work that he liked to his website and list them as “collaborators” and part of his “studio.” It was never clear to me if any of them knew they were on there.

When I went to school for Sculpture, there was a guy who spoke in a fake British Accent, claimed every poorly welded steel sculpture he made was some absurd material like titanium and would make up new health ailments to get sympathy. This despite the fact that he very much had a real colostomy bag
