Jason, friend, I can’t see Bluesky posts if you don’t use Bridgy! I’m happy to hear from you, but I’m all done with corporate social media smashing up my social circles.

Kinda like when you’ve asked your friend to edit your story and now can’t finish it.

Every chapter is me forcing the characters to do the next thing because otherwise I stall, describing how beautiful things are, or facial expressions, or figuring out elaborate ways to avoid being explicit.

Hm. I can’t. Did you follow the bot back?

I’m just figuring out how it works.

Oh I’m
Psyched it’s working! I couldn’t follow you back but maybe now I can?

Then I thiiink you can follow @JoshuaACNewman.xeno.glyphpress.com.ap.brid.gy ?

Me too. But not turning on a feature that allows interoperability doesn’t make the situation better.
January 19, 2025 at 2:18 PM
That’s two months ago.

So, fine, don’t use it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s how interoperability works for now.

Follow Bridgy so I can follow you for real! I’m not really using this account. It’s only here so people can find me on Mastodon from Bluesky.
January 19, 2025 at 2:14 AM
No, because then the conversation is split between the two. There are no threads.
January 19, 2025 at 2:02 AM
It looks like there’s a delay, so it took me a little bit of mucking about to realize that it was already working for me.

Bluesky is the single point of failure I’m worried about. This is a compromise position.

It becomes moot if Bluesky supports ActivityPub or Bluesky’s protocol gains parity on critical elements so they wind up merging.

In the meantime, I consider VCs and billionaire ownership to be the threat.

Actually, mucus protects you from infection so that’s unfair to mucus.
