This week's episode of @onthemedia.bsky.social is golden. Bravo for some great coverage.

I want to clarify my post from yesterday a bit. I believe in a pluralist society, and I believe that in order to keep outsiders and minorities safe, we must allow all forms of speech without reprisal, because you never know when you'll be on the outside. (Cont.)

To denounce violent protest is to side with the power-holders and their construction of what is deemed legitimate, denying the voice and validity of the oppressed and bereaved. How can we ask victims of active physical and systemic violence to remain nonviolent? (1/5)

It shocks me that people have their Venmo transactions set to display publicly. I do not get the social aspect. Why do people share this info? It's potentially dangerous. The only people that need to know about a financial transaction are the person that sent the money and the one receiving it.

Neither Bush nor US society has ever really reckoned with the consequences of his imperialist crusade.
It’s Always the Right Time to Call George W. Bush a War Criminal
If George W. Bush is not going to stand trial for war crimes, he should at the very least stop appearing in public to weigh in on unjustified wars, as he did this week when he accidentally referred to the “wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq.”

You're supposed feel calm & solace at wkend farmers markets by reconnecting with local farmers, but all I want to do is run over cars driving down the middle of the road, taking up both directions & not moving over to let you by & all the self-absorbed ppl walking arm in arm like it's Red Rover.

Oblivion Remastered is stunning. Does it have bugs? Yes. Does it feel like a 20 y/o game? Sometimes, but the story is enthralling, and the updated graphics are well done. I know I'm going to be spending 100-200+ hrs in this world, and I'm looking forward to it.

“Biden’s slander of pro-Palestinian activists helped splinter the Democratic coalition during the 2024 election, giving Trump a potent wedge issue.”

The New McCarthyism Was Started by Liberals
As with earlier Red Scares, Democrats laid the groundwork for the current crackdown on dissent.

First, the craptastic Severance finale a couple of weeks back and then this one. At least Severance had a good season, overall, before it screwed the pooch at the end, but even though The White Lotus season 3 had a few stand out performances, it was still just poop-dust from start to finish. 📺
So, ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 Was Bad
The White Lotus season 3 was not good. It was bad. Despite some great performances, this script went totally off the rails by the end.

Ordered 25lb of flour from a small mill in NC--3 hours direct from me in ATL. It was shipped via USPS on 03/21, & it went all the way to NJ before arriving at USPS in Atlanta 4 days ago, and it still has not been put on a truck for delivery. Calling USPS has been futile. Save USPS from these idiots!

I cannot with the S2 finale of #severence. It was such a great series--up until that dumpster fire of a finale. It was a complete betrayal of innie Mark's character development. Sure he has feelings, but he was never this much of an idiot. I'm just not going to be able to take S3 seriously. 📺

My wallet and I are currently suffering a sparkling #mineralwater obsession. My fridge currently contains Gerolsteiner, Borjomi, Radenska, Topo Chico, Mountain Valley, and Lauretana. I think I'm turning into a #water #sommelier. Let me be clear: this is a problem, because I cannot afford this habit.

I'm about to stop buying records from artists that only tour the N.East, West Coast, & Chicago. The Southeast has a lot to give. Make even 1 stop in Atlanta, Nashville, or Charlotte, etc & I'll buy your stuff. Support is reciprocal. And no, geographically isolated-Miami doesn't count. #music 🎵
