The Mets at least give you the option to choose your method of refund at time of purchase (refund vs. season ticket credit). Of course I would have been happy to jump through a few extra steps if they had, you know, actually made the playoffs.

It may be but it’s the only alternative, no? Not like if Soto doesn’t take the money it will go to fund the arts, etc. (unless you consider Cohen buying a Monet as arts funding… though he does that too…)

Would you have preferred that Steve Cohen just held onto it? In all seriousness, yes, it’s crazy money, but I’ve always preferred seeing money going to players than sitting in owners’ bank accounts.
