According to this report, we’ve put a dent in our housing shortage, which has had an impact on housing costs. But “a more recent drop in permits suggests a slowdown in the near future.” There’s still work to be done if we’re going to make this commonwealth a place where people can afford to live.

Out canvassing for @wutrain.bsky.social in Rozzie this evening! I always feel bad when I ring a doorbell and a dog starts barking inside. I’m sorry to have activated you, friend!! Go back to your slumber. You can’t even vote.

“Anti-government conservatism with a different aesthetic” is a great way to describe this sort of thing. Some people love to cloak themselves in the language of equity while arguing against policies that would make our society more equitable, and they do it by focusing on absurd edge cases.
it is, effectively, a view that nothing should be done to solve any problem if there might be a trade-off somewhere for someone who you could code as “marginalized.” it is just anti-government conservatism with a different aesthetic!

I made this tonight and it was really great. I added tofu, beech mushrooms, and Chinese broccoli. (If you don’t own a rice cooker you should get one.)

The folks at the doggy daycare Luke goes to sent us this photo of him resting his head on his friend, Odin. The owner says he’s started showing it to potential new clients so they can see “the sort of thing that goes on here.”
