Here’s the problem: even among conservatives there is Trans support. Alienating then as a block removes an important tool: Republicans are not monolithic on the topic: Almost half Republicans support Trans at least in identity. Sub topics have 25-30% Republican support.

Existing isn’t what alienates. It’s the vitriol toward a specific party as a trans hating identity. Like with “deplorable” or “Magats” etc, when support or rejection is oversimplified, it pushes support away.
