Meanwhile we’ve also seen more of the ugly insides of these platforms and learned about the priorities of people like Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, who I would argue I “know” about as well as some of my FB friends because I’ve read more about them than someone from HS who hasn’t posted in 3 years.

For a while Facebook and Twitter also had critical mass “everyone” was there. Now those platforms are losing users and fading from relevance. And as this is happening, I also find the product less interesting - more ads and unfollowed pages and less social content.

15 years ago, it was fun to find all the people we cared about and thought we’d never see again. There were also opportunities for silly positive interactions. Over time it has seemed that the products on offer have shifted dramatically, and in this era are used mostly for shouting into the wind.

I’m asking this question specifically to the users of Blue Sky because they’re the ones fueling the exodus from other platforms. It’s part of the homework. @CSDK Why are you here? If it looks like a Twitter, and acts like a Twitter… it’s probably a Twitter and likely to develop similar issues.
