i had to leave my condo to come to this.
A three year run off of one album is impossible these days. Shania really took over the world. So much so that they remixed her whole country album to make an "international" pop version. What an icon.

Then, after Isaiah's Q&A, Kellee Terrell (a badass writer/filmmaker - see: "Run Sweetheart Run") heard his story and spoke to similar rejection she felt from the same festivals that he mentioned being rejected by. She wants us to connect them so she can support. THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT.

Something wonderful happened tonight at Foregound's BLACK/GAY/stuck at home screening of Black, queer horror short films. Isaiah, an ATL-based filmmaker, witnessed the spirited reaction to his short film and shared how he feels more confident to keep pushing towards that dream. That made me tear up.

PLUS, we'll have a stacked Q&A after each film. Isaiah Rice, Kellee Terrell, and all three co-directors (Polly Gladwin, Bruna Fionda, and Zach Nataf) will be joining the chat to talk about all things Black, queer, and horror. Happy Halloween! RSVP: www.intheforeground.org

We just added another amazing horror short to Friday night's lineup.

🧟‍♀️ Goodnight My Love (2014)
By Kellee Terrell

When the world ends, what happens to love? In this short, a Black lesbian couple navigates the collapse of their relationship against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse.

Rewatched the original Suspiria (1977) tonight while I worked on some projects. Still one of the most gorgeous horror films to ever come out. The score is also delicately chaotic.

🎸 Axel’s Night (2024)
By Isaiah Rice

After a gig in Atlanta, Axel, the fiery lead guitarist of a rock band, leaves with a flirtatious fan only to find himself plunged into a night that refuses to go according to plan. Axel’s Night bends desire and darkness into an electrifying, haunted evening.
