Unlike much of their shark relatives which are more solitary, Manta Rays are known to form friendships that can last for weeks or months at a time. In these friendships, mantas can travel together, play together, and like these two pictured above, copy each other’s movements!

Whale sharks (Rhincodon typus) are not actually whales at all! Whale sharks are cartilaginous fishes (fish that have a skeleton made of cartilage and not bones) making them true sharks.
