You’re probably misinterpreting what side of this argument I’m on. I’m very pro-Pettersson and think he should/will be good again. But if he’s in the lineup he needs to provide a certain amount to this team, otherwise just sit and rest if it’s that bad.

Just to add - I have no idea if he is dealing with an injury or the severity of it. But it is the only thing that logically adds up to me. Players don’t just get bad at 26 years old.

Depends on the guy, some don’t want the hassle of free agency if they get a good enough offer before then. I assume the relationship with Rutherford and Allvin is there and that they’re confident they can extend him before he hits free agency.

Different types of players but I think they’re going to have similar impacts. It’s going to be the same “oh this is what a legit top-4 Defenceman looks like” feeling
Hronek also had the benefit of playing PP1 in Detroit, which inflated his point totals.
