I can't believe how uninteresting Isaac was as a character, damn.

Was a star more harsher than you in my rating, but agreed with every point you made

That first hour is borderline insufferable. Really weird narrative device and pacing

Gave a pre-assessment to four Grade 9 classes, who have all had the same lessons from me. Same assessment, same teacher, same content.

75%
72%
68%
61%

Conditions and personalities in the class demographics differ. But funny to look at.

Anyway, I felt like that context was necessary.

Today a student, a Grade 9 student... (IYKYK) Said, "Mr. Eberley, I can't wait for your class." I thought he was about to roast me and laughed to brace for the pain. But he said, "For real the one class THAT I LOVE."

That was gold to me, man.

We've been back exactly one week and morale, as you can imagine, is a mixed bag. Many teachers are happy to be back with students, happy to be back in the work routine but also devastated by the government's choices, and wildly pessimistic about the future of the profession given the new precedent.

For those not in Alberta, the government ended the teacher's strike using a veto clause that was never meant to be a partisan hammer. Forcing teachers back with no changes or compromises and a contract that 90% of teachers voted no to democratically in May. It's been a heavy transition for many.

This movie may have changed my life. 0 Sarcasm. I dunno, I dunno.

I think I'm too conditioned to want to share and reflect on hoops nightly to vacate the habit but at the same time it's just not rewarding like it used to be?

As I sit here waiting to go in, an elderly man is trying to book a follow-up ultrasound at the desk. They are telling him that he can’t get in until January and he is distraught. Doesn’t seem able to believe it. System is breaking, near broken.
