I agree. Stop saying who appointed. Just put D or R and their court after their name. E.g., "Ho (R-CA5)."

You definitely could. I have been convinced by the literature on RCV generally that there are real costs in terms of citizen understanding/buy-in to increasing the complexity of the electoral system.

2. I think a lot of geographically concentrated constituencies (think Puerto Ricans or Hasidic Jews in various NYC districts) really rely on geographic representation to have any voice in national politics.
