Hopefully the pendulum will swing again as history shows it does, after negative effects are felt vs read about and confidence is restored.

There's an anti intellectual thread running that craves rejection of experts replaced with populism and an illusion of self expertise in doing ones own research. Informed and expert are different concepts getting mixed up here.
