This is an illegal war of aggression. There is no direct threat, no provocation, no need, and no Congressional approval. The only people this serves are the autocrats trying to cling to power.

Some fun news: I’m thrilled to join the Board of Directors of Thrive Philanthropy, a global grantmaker that accelerates just, sustainable, plant-based food systems around the world. Check them out, and let me know if you’re interested in learning more! www.thrivephilanthropy.org

Flying back to the US from Europe. Emptiest flight I’ve been on. I imagine like trains into Germany back in 1934.

Q&A on democracy in Germany: How can local community participation help prevent the rise of far right parties like AfD? By bringing people together to share grievances, feel heard, and understand those who are different. @peoplepowered.org

The #TeslaTakedown actions get bigger each week. People are fed up and rising up!

It’s a beautiful day to fight fascism! The protest at the TESLA showroom keeps getting bigger, and this is happening across the country.

If your only response to the rise of authoritarianism is to defend the existing political system, consider what people think of that system.

Yeah, so I’m not sure we’re quite getting our priorities right…

Break free from your chains, horsey.

Wow these are all really awful options and also why is everyone decapitated? #BotFail

Can someone teach me how to make accounting mistakes like this please?

For everyone organizing a town hall meeting and calling it a citizens' assembly, see this grounding from @MEhsassi, on @PeoplePowrd research to practice talk.

There are a lot of things I’m not good at, but it’s been such a joy & honor building @PeoplePowrd’s global team & community, and getting to look around and see the collective power, vision, and creativity rising up in person at #PeoplePowered2023 in #CDMX. 🙏🏼 🌎 🌍 🌏

After 3 years, we finally get to have an in-person @PeoplePowrd board meeting! And by board meeting, I mean eating tacos 😋
#PeoplePowered2023
January 27, 2025 at 1:14 AM
We’re coming together with 100 democratic visionaries from around the world at the #PeoplePowered2023 convening in #CDMX. Also, tacos! 🌮 🌮 🌮
January 27, 2025 at 1:14 AM
While archaic hierarchies cling to power, in #CDMX the leading international organizations working on participatory & deliberative democracy came together over the last days to build a stronger global movement to transform democracy. I think we’re on the right side of history.

Facts matter. Crime is down.

Really, @nytimes? I wish we could all be held to such standards… spend way too much money building something unnecessary that instantly explodes, and the takeaway is that you achieved important milestones???

Current mood: #vegan cupcakes.

I ❤️ that in the #CivicsWeek email to all school families, @NYCSchools @DOEChancellor led with a story of #ParticipatoryBudgeting empowering students to change their schools & the world. An experiment a few years ago is now standard practice.
