Market participants care about making money for themselves, not about providing services for everyone. Infrastructure is for everyone.

Each player has a different role. The same tool doesn't solve every problem.

You see the senior citizens that can* use the box. You don't see the ones that can't and don't. Why would they be there?

It's survivorship bias. The ones being affected the most negatively are invisibilized.

Because you can't see them, it doesn't mean they aren't there or weren't affected.

These are not mutually exclusive. Less third spaces make the confort of home more appealing.
I'd add that these two issues actually are a feedback loop:
As third spaces disappear, home becomes an option but being at home needs more trust, but it's hard to build that trust without a safe third space.
