My favourite street in #Ripon looking absolutely stunning in the spring sunshine. 😍 Smithson’s butchers,was established by Thomas Smithson who was mayor of Ripon from 1890 to 1892.

Today, I closed and locked the door for the final time on the room, and house I moved into when I moved to #Ripon 3 years ago! It was a safe haven when I needed it, I felt secure and happy when I needed it the most. I will always be grateful. 🙏 👏🏼

What a year #2024 has been! Wow! The two series of #WolfHall has been utterly flawless, from production to costume design; everything was wonderful. Probably the best historical interpretation I’ve ever seen, but, give ALL the awards to #MarkRylance ! What a mesmerising performance. Bravo 👏🏼

If anyone’s got a few million to spare; Ripley Castle just outside Harrogate in #NorthYorkshire is up for sale! It’s been in the same family for the last 700 years. James I stayed at the castle in 1603. By 1605 the Ingilbys were plotting to kill him. What a history lost. #history #socialhistory

Upon its opening in 1877, #York train station was the largest in the world. That roof is simply sublime😍.
