A dad from Melbourne. Hoping for a better, kinder and more sustainable world for my kids and everyone’s.
I find it odd timing that a number of the media and LNP pollies are pushing this a couple of weeks AFTER the election. I am guessing they realised it would have gone down like a lead balloon if they were seen to be supporting rich people hoarding money into super.

And yet Albo goes and agrees to a leaders debate on Sky News. Like for FFS, why promote and legitimise this putrid excuses for Journalists ?

One thing we know, she would have been a much better president than the clown currently masquerading as President.

Agreed. And its inaccurate also. Australia is in fact one of the lower taxing nations on personal incomes.

Fetterman is basically saying he will never try and negotiate a better deal. He will just accept anything Trump puts up.
March 15, 2025 at 12:42 AM
Sure, but doing that publicly would only provoke the current situation.

What do people propose ? Getting into a fight with Trump at this point would be counter productive in the extreme with potential tariffs on primary produce on the agenda.

I remember wondering how it was that Hitler and the Nazi's were able to get a foothold and then thrive in Germany. Well we are getting a real time lesson. A significant portion of rich, powerful & influential people and big business sacrifice integrity and decency for self interest and profit.

There is of course no chance that Trump will actually buy a Tesla. Can he convince his sycophants to do so ? Time will tell, but he has spent the past 8 years telling them EV's are a scam!

My neighbor has one of these gigantic luxury utes. Its never used for his work & on the occasions he has to carry something for his business, he uses a separate "normal" sized ute (Hilux). His ute takes up two parking spots as they don't have room for it in his garage. Yet it was a tax write off.

What really irks me most about this nonsense is that not only will it impact Americans, but it also has the potential to affect other nations also as there is likely to be a greater degree of virus being transmitted due to more and more unvaccinated American citizens travelling.
February 17, 2025 at 11:25 AM
Agreed. And its these policies should be the focus in the lead up to the election (IMO).
February 11, 2025 at 5:23 AM
My view is that headline grabbing proposals such as taxing billionaires 10% etc are counter productive as it perpetuates the view that the Greens are extreme and not serious.

IMO the leadership of the greens just keep hammering housing and climate.

That is just my view.
February 11, 2025 at 5:22 AM
It sounds nice but we all know it won't happen.

I would rather the focus be back on practical policies that are realistic. Lets get back to pushing climate to the front of peoples minds. Lets focus on practical housing policies and really pushing back against tax breaks making this harder.

The article quickly disappeared from the landing page on The Age and is now very difficult to find on their website. I wonder why ?
February 7, 2025 at 12:22 AM
Is anyone actually surprised that this guy was working for Musk and that Musk had promoted him ? The shock would be if the others in his little DOGE team didn't also harbor these same abhorrent views.
February 6, 2025 at 11:10 PM
The first news items on ABC news this morning are just replaying LNP talking points as if they are facts. How about the ABC news actually reports on facts ?

We all know though that he will be looked after though because of his colour and ethnicity.

They aren’t really anti immigrant. They are anti non white immigrants.
January 31, 2025 at 5:08 AM
It’s the ABC that is most disappointing. They spent the entire election campaign sanewashing Trump and continue to do so.

Perhaps you should take a look in the mirror. Your response is exactly that of the rustadon.

They spent 3 years not agreeing to legislation ensuring Labor is seen as not doing things to help housing etc until the last moment when they helped pass a raft of legislation. All the while attacking Labor for 3 years. Of course Labor is also at fault, but Greens are not blameless.
January 30, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Let’s be honest the entire greens policy has been aimed at wedging Labor. They waited until the last moment to vote for legislation. This has played into LNP hands.
January 30, 2025 at 12:54 AM
I am not sure this is something to be outraged about. Presumably if she wins, Dutton isn't there so automatically the LNP are different and unlikely to be in a position to form a minority gov't any way. Ruling out supporting the LNP would see her open to attacks as a Labor / Greens candidate.
