In August 2021, Jelani Day disappeared. He had last been seen at a store in Bloomington.

Then, 11 days after he went missing, Jelani’s remains were recovered from the Illinois river.

Jelani's mother joins the program to mourn his loss 4 years later.

Chicago’s public media outlets — WBEZ and WTTW — will undoubtedly get hit by the President Donald Trump-endorsed plan to take away $1.1 billion from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting over the next two years. But the cuts would have a far greater impact on smaller stations.
Illinois public broadcasters in Chicago, and especially downstate, fear impact as Senate vote to cut funding looms
While Chicago-area public media outlets WBEZ and WTTW will get hurt if the Senate OK’s cuts, smaller stations in rural areas would get hit harder.

Today's @21st.show is a project of mine to take the show across the state and this time, we visit Danville.

Danville is like a lot of small cities across the state that is losing its young adults for a variety of reasons: lack of jobs, want to branch out, feeling of there being nothing left.
