I am trying to help a friend from Gaza apply to university in Europe. Despite Israel's war of extermination, they need to keep some hope alive. Apart from everything else he needs to provide, they are asking for an English certificate and an interview. They dont accept his AMIDEAST certificate /1

Israel bombed this house 2 days ago, Tuesday 20/5 at 4am, in Jabalia al-Balad. 200m from where I used to live.

They assassinated the whole family. The head of the household Musa al-Muqayyad. His brother Usama, his son Iz, and Usama’s wife and five children, 3 girls & 2 boys.

My friend Ahmad lives here, in Jabalia Town, opposite this house Israel bombed today belonging to the Hamouda family, killing 30. His wife’s uncle and his grandchildren were gravely injured. Ahmad is only alive by coincidence

In fact, "two of the officials said it might take a couple of weeks." This would be a very serious delay. According to the agreement (attached) tomorrow: "On day 7, the internally displaced pedestrians will be allowed to return north, without carrying arms and without inspection via Rashid street."

“Border crossings will be opened, facilitating the movement of people and goods”.

Now onto a few highlights from Appendix I:

On Rafah crossing, it appears it will not reopen—after Israeli redeploys around it—until the end of phase 1 (references to this in the 25 May agreement are ambiguous) /7

I am sharing here the Gaza ceasefire agreement being implemented today, which I received from the negotiating parties. It consists of the 25/5/2024 agreement, which serves as template and an appendix, agreed upon recently. I describe the most important parts /1
