John the beloved disciple, is thought to have lived the longest life of the Apostles.

Due to persecution, he was exiled to the island of Patmos, where he received the visions recorded in the Book of Revelation.

11. Matthias

He was chosen as the replacement for Judas in Acts 1.

One tradition holds he died preaching the gospel in Judea by the Jews. Another tradition holds, he died taking the gospel to Ethiopia being stoned and beheaded.

10. Simon the Zealot

Simon the Zealot is believed to have been martyred around 74 AD.

Simon might have been crucified by the Romans in Lincolnshire, Britain, or sawed-to-death in Suanir, Persia with Jude Thaddeus.

9. Bartholomew

Bartholomew faced a particularly brutal martyrdom around 72 AD.

He was skinned alive and beheaded, likely in Azerbaijan, near Russia on the Caspian Sea by order of a local king after a majority of the people of Derbent converted to Christianity.

8. Andrew

Andrew, Peter’s brother, was martyred in Patras, Greece, around 70 AD.

He felt unworthy to be crucified like Christ and like his brother.

So he was crucified on an X-shaped cross. He was able to convince many to accept Christianity just before he died after suffering for three days.

7. James the Lesser

James was the Bishop of Jerusalem and was killed around 62 AD.

He was thrown from the pinnacle of the Temple.

Surviving the fall, he was then stoned and clubbed to death by an angry mob.

6. Thaddeus (Jude)

Thaddeus preached the Gospel in Persia alongside Simon the Zealot.

He was martyred around 72 AD, possibly being killed with arrows or beaten to death.

5. Philip

Philip was martyred around 54 AD in Hierapolis (modern day Turkey), after he converted the wife of the proconsul of the city.

This enraged the proconsul and he had Philip crucified upside down.

Philip continued preaching while crucified until his death.

He was the tax collector Christ chose to be His disciple. He was the author of the gospel of Matthew.

Christian tradition says he preached in Ethiopia and was killed by either spear or burning.

Known as "Doubting Thomas" in church history, but was a bold as a lion in his death.

He proclaimed the gospel all the way to India. He was stabbed to death with spears.

He was the leader of the Apostles. He was martyred by the Emperor Nero in 64 AD.

He was crucified like his Lord, but felt unworthy, and asked to be crucified upside down.

He was the brother of the Apostle John. Acts 12 documents his death with a sword, likely by beheading.

This happened in 44 AD in Jerusalem.

Sexual immorality leads to death, which is Hell. See Revelation 21:8, “But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
